The first summer school from the Harvard Medical School, focusing on Serious Games for Health and Sport has received 7.4 credits from the Catalan Council for the Continued Training of Health Professions and from the Commission for the Continued Training of the National Health System, with these being allocated as follows: Serious Games for Health (standard): 3 credits, Serious Games for Sport: 1.4 and Serious Games for Health (avanced): 3 credits. These credits are addressed to the following categories of health sector professionals: Doctors/Family and community medicine, physiotherapists, nurses, physicists in health sciences, dentists and clinical psychologists in health sciences.
This year there will therefore be three courses on offer: the Serious Games for Health course (standard): July 3rd and 4th; the Serious Games for Health course (advanced): July 6th and 7th, and the Serious Games for Sport course: on July 5th only. You will therefore have the opportunity to acquire an overall vision of the world of health care, incorporating the health aspect applied to sport.
By means of these two courses specialising in health, professionals in the health sector will be able to gain a broad perspective on how new technologies are not just the future, but very much the present in terms of the exponential growth that the health sector can expect to experience with the emergence of the new ICTS. They will also have the opportunity to acquire criteria on the functioning of a sector that will permeate the entire health workplace over the coming years. In addition, this cutting-edge training will allow them to anticipate the technological change that the field of health will experience, while being taught by an excellent teaching staff.
In contrast, the Serious Games for Sport course will be addressed to: P.E. teachers, professional coaches, physical trainers, etc., i.e. to sports professionals, who will have the opportunity to understand the exponential growth that this sector can expect to experience thanks to the emergence of Serious Games for Sports and new technologies. All together, this will allow them to improve sport approaches in assisting athletes, as well as gaining real time statistics about behaviour based on different activities, among many other aspects.
In short, if you are studying any of the aforementioned university qualifications, related to the health sector, you will be able to validate up to 3 credits. Remember:
Serious Games for Health (standard): 3 credits.
Serious Games for Sport: 1.4.
Serious Games for Health (advanced): 3 credits.
