GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE COURSE

Serious Games for Sport (SGS) provide education and entertainment, and help to provide better training and education in the field of Sport. They are also an opportunity to motivate users and encourage them to focus on changing their behaviour in terms of the way they manage their disease or condition. These games are designed to help in obtaining better sports results, improving staff training and promoting education and the products related to this sector.

Our course in the SGS field focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of serious games for sport, offering a detailed look at the best applications and the implementations of the sector’s approaches to these systems in the Sports sector and its industry, as well as providing a framework for evaluation and a strategy for sustainable systems designed by the academic and commercial sectors.

School of New Interactive Technologies (ENTI)

The School of New Interactive Technologies (ENTI) was established to respond to both a desire and a need: the desire to share the educational programmes and training that the top universities in the world are already providing, in Barcelona, and the need to contribute to the burgeoning videogame cluster in our city with the top creative minds and professionals in the field. The Degree in Interactive Digital Content offered by ENTI, a school affiliated with the University of Barcelona (UB), is the first degree in Serious Games in Spain. It was created together with the UB, in collaboration with the areas of architecture and engineering.

Students will learn how to conceptualise, design, create and manage video games and Serious Games (also called applied games), bearing in mind at all times the total scope of the potential market and therefore being able to gauge the area of interest (entertainment, health, sports, education, communication, physical therapy, etc.). They will also learn to take into account all the possible formats, be they analogical or digital (PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet, games console, cinema, video or music).

Further information can be found at the official ENTI website.
